What is the difference between Microblading & tattooed eyebrows?
Unlike eyebrow tattooing or permanent makeup, the microblading technique involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes that are more natural looking. A microblade is several times more thinner than the needles used on a tattoo machine. Microblade strokes heal much thinner and crisper and do not blur.
How long is the healing process?
Results vary depending on your health and age.
The healing of your skin takes 25-35 days for the full pigment retention to occur.
Be prepared not to wet the brows excessively the first two weeks.
Brows will be up to 40% darker and bolder the first 9 days as mild scabbing will form.
Once the scabbing period is over, you will experience the “milky effect” which will look as if pigment completely disappears. The skin will continue to heal over the next three weeks and will pull the pigment back up to the skin.
4-6 week perfecting touch up is scheduled.
How to prepare for Microblading?
Do not take fish oils the week of the procedure.
Do not take ibuprofen or blood thinners the day of the procedure (do not discontinue prescribed medications without physician approval).
It is best to not microblade the week you are menstruating. Pain sensitivity is heightened and your skin becomes tougher.
Do not drink coffee the morning of your microblading procedure.
Exercising and workouts are not recommended after procedure.
Is the perfecting touch up necessary?
The perfecting touch up is always recommended. Microblading is a two step process. The first session creates the shape while the touch up adds most of the detail and density. Correction to any lost strokes or color can be achieved during this session giving the brows more life and a much more fullness.
